Rewatched the movie Rush last night.
Niki Lauda, a three-time F1 World Champion. He was dedicated, relentless.
But he was focused, smart, kept his eye on the track, and got the job done.
When FOMO is gone, the fear of missing out must be replaced by something.
For me, it’s the fear of not achieving my full potential.
But who knows what it is?
Feeling stuck in Israel. But feelings can be manipulated, right?
So here goes. I’m staying to build, to scale.
What are your plans for the weekend?
THOUGHTS

A good friend of mine came back from a conference. Not just any conference.
It was the GLC, the Global Leadership Conference of EO in Dublin.
They say it was one of the best conferences ever.
I have attended five or six. It’s such an exhilarating feeling, seeing over 2,000 entrepreneurs all coming together to celebrate…
Well, I’m not sure what.
We train, we learn, we drink. I say we, I should be saying they.
I did not attend.
For the first time in my life, I feel I’ve consumed enough.
It’s time to build, to be focused. But I only have like 10 ideas.
That good friend?
He told me about all the speakers and talks. He recommended a book: The Science of Scaling by Dr. Benjamin Hardy.
The book talks about the focus it takes to scale and the way we misuse time.
His idea is that time is a tool. We want to achieve something, so we define a timeline we think we can hit.
But what if we defined a bigger goal? Like 10, 50, or 100X, and cut the time we give ourselves to achieve it?
This means we need to restructure our thoughts and our beliefs, redo it all again, but better.
I’d love to go back to GLC, but I think if I want to stay focused, I need a clear goal of when and how I can go there again.
What are you doing that is good, but not great?
Where are you wasting your time?
What can be cut out? Where do you say yes when it should have been a no?
I often see this with my bigger clients.
Companies want to scale, but their marketing and sales are just too slow to move.
I love what I do. You might call it work, I think I’m getting paid nicely for my hobbies.
Building in Public

Ready to Pitch like a pro?
Funny. I was thinking about my business and what is holding me back.
Lighting.
My office lighting is not set up correctly, so my videos don’t look good.
It’s probably not relevant, nobody cares, and yet it bothers me so much, I called a professional to come and help.
We have a tendency to focus on dumb shit, right?
I’ve been looking at my days, the way I spend my hours.
In Thailand, it was so easy. I only had time to spare. Writing, filming, reading.
Back home, reality hits. Meetings, events, talks.
It’s hard to stay focused.
Two days a week will be for writing.
One half-day for filming.
Become known enough in my home country to scale the company here.
Expand using online talks and SaaS platforms.
I am looking to hire a videographer and a video editor. Maybe find someone to lead my YouTube show here.
Scaling again? Wow, not sure I’m up for it.
But with new goals comes responsibility and accountability.
I missed those.

As part of my focus, I’m thinking about pausing this Storyletter for a while.
