How storytelling will help you survive

Summer breeze in Tel Aviv
When you feel stuck, take a walk. Leave everything, grab a cup of coffee, go to the beach, take a walk. Let your brain rest. Something will happen.
Last weekend in Athens, now by the Tel Aviv beach.
Hug someone you love. Life is so fragile.
In today’s Storyletter:
• Don’t skip on storytelling skills
• Building in public update
• Fun stuff – trailers and music
Key learning

Do you have a storytelling budget? Because if you don’t, someone with less talent, a lesser product, and less budget will beat you. It’s game on.
Last month I met a startup that truly blew my mind. Their tech is great, they have a working prototype, truly disruptive, and they are even winning awards and competitions. The problem is raising capital or getting some sales traction.
And they reached out, we spoke, they decided to save money and not hire me.
We often tend to save money on what we can’t see.
If you only spend money this year on one thing, spend it on this.
Every situation presents a wall or a door. It’s up to you to choose. Today, with the golden era of easy money fading, and developers, designers, and content writers scrambling, it’s your time to shine. And the secret ingredients rely on the oldest skill in the world: storytelling.
In 2021–22 you could meet 100 investors, get interest from ten, close with three, and you were good to go. Investors were throwing money around, and hype alone could land you a term sheet. In today’s market you will meet ten and maybe one or two will show interest. Crazy change in numbers.
When people are thinking twice about buying your product, it’s the story that will make them feel, taste, see the solution. One of the best examples is online wine shops. You can mention the wine, price, and country. Or you can have a 100-word description of tastes. In my early days, we used to do it with snowboard sales, and the sales changed drastically. The snowboard with a better story sold more.
AI is changing everything. People can develop a million-dollar platform in days. Anyone can start an online business, or even open a restaurant. What’s the story you are telling?
A couple of months ago I got an email from a company I’ve never heard of, thanking me. They read my book, changed the pitch, and raised money.
They didn’t change anything else except their story.

Spend a budget on hiring someone to help you craft your messaging
Create a list of things you would like to improve – sales, customer journey, or marketing. Use text, emotions, your story to improve the numbers (we have doubled revenue for several clients this year)
If you and your team are not actively practicing and implementing storytelling techniques into your business, you will miss out. It’s like I always say, marketing should be done when things are going well, not when you need clients.
Not sure what’s next? How to implement things?
Please, I encourage you to write me back with any questions you might have.
Clients will never run out; it’s you that needs to focus

General update
This week I’ve written over 10K words for clients.
I’m thrilled this week saw some of my clients sign their biggest deals ever. With B2B, enterprise, and B2C clients implementing my methods, it’s amazing to see how quickly a company can make a change.
I’ve signed a new workshop with a top Fortune 500 company.
Next steps
I’m finally launching my Pitch to Win concept, which includes a new workshop on how to run meetings. It’s a framework on how to run 25-minute meetings: one clear ask, one pitch, and a short discussion. Next week, I’ll be presenting this in front of a group of VP product leads to get their feedback.
If you are interested, let me know.
The next part of my Pitch to Win is the license model. We just started working on the structure, pricing, and some cool stuff. This will be an amazing offer for qualified facilitators and business storytellers around the world.
